一、授課目標
英文是目前國際公用的語言，許多具有學術價值的著作大多使用英文撰寫。本課程乃為使研究生學習如何快速且有效閱讀英文著作，培養研究生具有使用英文完成學術著作、並以英文發表研究成果之能力，強化學生獨立研究的競爭優勢。
二、參考書籍及教材
教材:
Thomas L. Friedman, The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-First Century, Farrar, Straus and Giroux
參考書籍:
葉乃嘉, 中英論文寫作綱要與體例：研究報告與英文書信規範, 五南
三、作業規定與評分標準
期中考(2):15%
期末考:20%
平時成績(作業及小考):20%
期末發表:25%
課堂參與度:10%
四、課程要求
1.課堂參與度：以課堂發言做為衡量依據。
2.請自行上網下載課程資料，網址為http://im95ew.blogspot.com/。
3.期末發表：以英文發表自己研究內容(或研究領域)，發表時間約為10~15分鐘，並繳交以IEEE格式撰寫之英文論文。
